It is only relatively recently that I have allowed myself to put down a book I am not enjoying rather than power through to the bitter end. I find this harder to do the longer that I have invested in a book.
The cover of my current Kindle read promises an autumnal New York romance but I found the main female character grating. In fact, I found that she became more aggravating as I read, rather than the other way around. Usually, the flawed character who struggles to commit eventually starts to trust, becomes less abrasive and impulsive and we get our happy ending. I am 70% of the way into the book and it feels like we are at a stale mate and she isn’t getting any more likeable. I am sure the happy ending is there but I just don’t care enough about any of it to read to the end.

I have a lot of options on my Kindle to choose instead so I am thinking I will go for one of the following:
