On Evelina's first birthday, I proudly presented her with the quilt that I had lovingly made for over a year (so started when she was not even yet born). I had chosen gorgeous Tilda fabrics and roughly followed a pattern. My inexperience did not matter because the end result was lovely and special. When I… Continue reading A Quilt Made with Love

18 for 2018
This year I have been enjoying the Happier with Gretchen Rubin podcast as well as Happier in Hollywood. Gretchen and Liz (her TV writer sister) are creating 18 for 2018 lists and since I have been missing my birthday lists, I thought I'd jump on board. I have made most of them finite things I can do… Continue reading 18 for 2018
Making for Baby Boy
It's been a ridiculously long time since I sewed anything more than a button. I am hoping that I will get to make at least of couple of projects that are at the very early stage of I Want to Make It. Like I did for Evelina, I want to make a twin bed… Continue reading Making for Baby Boy
What Would Beyoncé Do?
Simple but heartfelt, this little piece of sewing inspiration was for my teacher friend Kat who I met on placement last year. And Beyoncé is kind of our spiritual leader.
Little Bit of Sewing
I haven't done much in the way of crafting lately but I did manage to knock up a small piece of embroidery for my work bestie Louise for her birthday last month. We were almost Buzz and Woody for the staff talent show before Christmas but decided the costumes were too elaborate. I also liked… Continue reading Little Bit of Sewing

Kate: Bobble Purse
Look! I made a thing! A pretty thing! Head on over to sew make believe to read about it.
In a shocking turn of events, I managed to a) make it to our latest sew make believe meeting and b) (even more surprising) make something!
That something was this gorgeous bobble purse. It was made from a kit which Zoë bought me for my birthday from the wonderful Berylune. I managed to make the whole purse in an evening, making the perfect kind of craft for me to do. The kit had everything needed (apart from scissors, needle and pins) to make the purse and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. All in all, I was very impressed with the kit and very, very happy to have made something.
Bird for the Soul
http://instagram.com/p/XGHKsEzfAv/ When time is so precious and work is talking over, it is very easy to stop doing the things that you love but that are not essential to your day-to-day life. For me, crafting has always been something that I love but not something that I need. So it has been something I have… Continue reading Bird for the Soul
Losing my Crafting Mojo
With all that I have on my plate at the moment, something has had to give. It makes me sad that this something is crafting. The last thing I crafted was the embroidery I sewed for our sew make believe lucky dip present and that was only because I had to (although I was so glad… Continue reading Losing my Crafting Mojo
