What a fun day which included pumpkin carving, pumpkin soup making (and eating!), a Halloween dance party, and of course, trick or treating! I especially liked being back home after going trick-or-treating with the kiddos so that I could answer the door to trick-or-treaters coming to ours. We had red lights in the front rooms and our fantastic decorations which along with our lit carved pumpkins made our house look very festive.

After Austin went to bed, the rest of us stayed up to watch the new Haunted Mansion movie on Disney+. After hearing some lukewarm reviews (and knowing it was based on the ride), my expectations were relatively low. I loved it! It was much scarier than I expected (spooky scary – my favourite kind). In fact, we had tried to start watching it with Austin but very quickly realised it was not his cup of tea. I also thought it had a lot of heart and handled grief in a thoughtful way. The effects were fantastic and the cast was brilliant.
