I went to Costco on Black Friday.
The annoying thing is that I didn’t go looking for a bargain. I honestly thought that it would be quieter on a Friday than it would be tomorrow. I just kind of forgot that it is Black Friday. And that it is four weeks until Christmas. I went because Evelina’s absolutely favourite cake in the world is the Costco red velvet cake and with her birthday almost here and a house full of people coming on Sunday, it seems like the right thing to do.
I lost my temper.
In my defence, I did catch my almost teen about to make a massive bowl of icing just before dinner ‘as a snack’.
I (almost) forgot to put the bins out.
I had to dash out this morning first thing in my pyjamas which is bad enough but one of my students lives in the house opposite. A fact I only remembered when I was outside in the rain. In my PJs and Crocs.
I let Harper off the lead when it was too dark.
The nights have been drawing in so early that I was caught off guard today when I took Harper for a walk. I let her off in the quickly fading light and I realised very quickly that the dying daylight had actually already died and I was relying on the unusually bright moon to spot our dark pup. Her light-up collar would have been a good idea. Or not letting her off at all! Happily, I did not lose Harper and I managed to get her back on the lead and home safely!
