As I have already started my festive viewing, I thought I would make a list of all the must-see Christmas movies that I want to watch this Christmas season:
1. The Holiday – I usually reserve this for when I am wrapping presents as I know it so well. Are we ready for Jude Law flirting season?

2. White Christmas – a classic old film that I watch with Evelina (and usually Austin too) every year. I love it so much.

3. Elf – it disappoints me how awkward this makes Evelina feel because I think it is a pretty perfect Christmas movie.

4. The Grinch Who Stole Christmas – Jim Carrey’s Grinch is a thing of wonder. I have heard a rumour that he is returning for a sequel. We can but dream.

5. Home Alone – nothing says Christmas like child abandonment, violent defence of a home and crafty burglars!

6. The Christmas Chronicles (1 and 2) – these newer additions are now a firm part of our family festive viewing. I love Kurt Russell’s Santa and it was only right that real-life partner Goldie Hawn plays Mrs Claus in the second film

7. The Snowman – I have been watching this since I was little and it is still so beautiful as is the newer The Snowman and the Snowdog which I also love.

8. It’s a Wonderful Life– another unmissable classic.

9. The Muppets Christmas Carol – I usually watch this with Year 7 but I am not sure this year so I will have to make sure I put it on myself. Michael Caine playing it straight around all the Muppet craziness is a joy to watch!

10. Die Hard 1 and 2 – we don’t watch both every year but if John McClane isn’t shooting up things in a tank top, then it really isn’t Christmas. And yes, it is a Christmas movie. No arguments.

Honourable mentions – here are other movies I am likely to stick on over the Christmas period.
- Stick Man
- Holidate
- Noelle
- The TV series Dash & Lily
- Let It Snow
- Arthur Christmas
- Spirited – I haven’t seen this yet but really want to.
- Miracle on 34th Street
- The Night Before
