Goodbye Autumn

Today is the last day of November and so is the last day of autumn. This has been a significantly better autumn than usual with so much fall fun.

We have been on many woodland walks. We have enjoyed Halloween and our trip to the Peak District. The only thing that I genuinely wish we had done that we wanted to do was to bake parkin. I suppose it doesn’t matter if I do that in December. We have other baking we want to do so I can make parkin from my Grandma’s recipe as well as gingerbread and snickerdoodles.

It has been such a monumental season of my life in that I finally made a decision that I have needed to make for such a long time. As soon as I made it, a weight was lifted from my heart and I am lighter, calmer, happier. There is still so much that is unknown but for now, I am enjoying this newly found peace.
