Yesterday the kiddos and I hopped on a train to spend the afternoon and early evening in London with the families of two of my old dear friends from Leigh.
We found a walking tour suggestion on Instagram which we used to get started. Our meeting place was the suitably impressive Ritz Hotel which had some gorgeous decorations.

Next stop was Annabel’s, a private member’s club which had this wonderful hot air balloon decoration. I imagine at night it is even better.

From there we headed to New Bond Street. My favourites were Chanel, Dior and Cartier.

Next stop was the Royal Arcade and Burlington Arcade (neither of which offered Austin the arcade fun he had hoped for when he heard where we were going!).

Then we headed to Fortnum and Mason which had a fantastic advent calendar in the windows. We had a mooch – it was rammed on the ground floor though – and then had a cuppa in the Parlour Café where the kids enjoyed ice cream and cake. When we came out, the street was so much busier as it had started to get dark and the whole shop was flooded in festive red lights.

On our way to Hamley’s, we walked up Saville Row and I loved the themed lights.

Then it was time to head towards Covent Garden where we had booked in for dinner. We made sure to go via Carnaby Street on the way.

Covent Garden didn’t disappoint with its wonderful red Christmas tree and the fantastic bells and baubles in the roof of the indoor market.
