Today is the first day of the rest of my life. It has started as all my days off start: a cup of tea, helping Austin get ready for school and the school run. When I got home from dropping him off, I upgraded my usual Marmite on toast for fried eggs on sourdough toast.
After a bit of planning, checking out the new decorations the family bought while I was out yesterday and chatting with Rich, I had a leisurely bath while listening to my current audiobook, Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman. I took Rich to Warwick Parkway as he had an afternoon meeting in London and then headed to Sainsbury’s. Before I even left the car, though, I had a call from Evelina’s school saying that she wasn’t well (she had been off on Tuesday) so I drove over to Stratford to collect her.
With a poorly Evelina in tow, I headed back to Warwick as I still had to send a parcel and then we went home. She made a start on the Christmas Lego and watched movies. In the evening, I took Austin to his football Christmas party at Ten Pin Bowling. Then once both kids were in bed, I watched YouTube videos while enjoying one of my leaving presents. This glass is pretty perfect!
