23 in 2023 Review

This year I am so pleased with how much I accomplished from my list.

  1. Explore a town or city and discover something new about it.
  2. Read Beloved by Toni Morrison. – started reading!
  3. Finish the first draft of my novel (ever the optimist!).
  4. Find a writing accountability partner.
  5. Write a poem.
  6. Be brave and put some more writing out there for submission.
  7. Visit my brother in Brighton.(well, Littlehampton)
  8. Picnic in a meadow.
  9. Make a scrapbook.
  10. Take the kiddos to an art gallery.
  11. Write in a cafe for the afternoon.
  12. Create my website for my new business venture.
  13. Celebrate with family.
  14. Create a photo book.
  15. Embroider something.
  16. Read a Kindle book.
  17. See a musical at the theatre.
  18. Go shopping at the Disney store in London.
  19. Go to dinner with a friend I haven’t seen in a while.
  20. Attend (or start) a book club.
  21. Find a new spot to walk Harper.
  22. Write some goals for the year.
  23. Find a new chair for my office.

I am going to carry over all of the outstanding items for my 24 in 2024 list which I will make soon.

I have already started Beloved but I will not finish this before the end of the year. The book NEEDS to be written. I had planned on starting a whole new wiring project but I figure I will actually get something out of finishing this draft even though I believe it to be flawed and unpublishable. I think finishing the draft is an important thing I need to accomplish regardless of its value or quality. I definitely want to be more crafty in 2024 and hopefully having no teaching stress will allow me to give time and energy to creative hobbies like embroidery and memorykeeping.

Next year I want to focus more on community and family goals.
