Seasons

Anyone who knows me knows that I am very fond of autumn. It has been my favourite season for some time and I have very much enjoyed thinking of appropiate seasonal activities including books to read, things to bake, crafts to do and places to visit.

How we are in the dead of winter – this current deep freeze we are having in the UK certainly makes me feel so. And I have already made a list of winter reading which I am enjoying even after the festive season is over. It makes me want to enjoy each season in the same way, with decor, reading and other seasonal activities helping me to make the most of the time we are in.

The best thing about this is that it really help me to live in the moment, be present with the here and now. It makes me search for the best parts about each season and also think about how I want to live in each season. Reading Katherine May’s Wintering again reminds me that winter is a time for rest and recharging. It is a time to slow down and hunker down.

Autumn will always be my favourite but walking today in the frosty local field with the sun setting behind freezing fog, and crystals clinging to every blade of grass and every tree twig, I was feeling pretty smitten with winter!
