Ten Books for 2025

Here are just some of the books I want to read this year:

  1. Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros – the third in the Emypyrean series. Very excited about this one and I will be doing a buddy read which will mainly mean lots of texting while reading!
  2. Beloved by Toni Morrison – I know I will love this modern classic but I also know it will be heavy so it has been difficult to get going with it. This is the year, though. I can feel it.
  3. I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith – one I have been meaning to read for many years but when a good friend mentioned it in response to my recent favourite character post, it put it straight on this list. The only book in the list that I don’t actually own!
  4. The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune – I have heard so many great things about this cosy fantasy.
  5. Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree – another cosy fantasy which is fast becoming a favourite genre for comfort reading.
  6. Billy Summers by Stephen King – one of my favourite authors, I want to contine to work through his immense back catalogue
  7. Ink Blood Sister Scribe by Emma Törzs – another fantasy novel which I started (and loved) but somehow put it down so I just need to pick it back up.
  8. The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’Farrell – based on the poem My Last Duchess by Browning. This author wrote one of my favourite books of the decade, Hamnet.
  9. What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez – I have a beautiful hardback edition.
