Welcome spring!

As winter fades, I am starting to feel lighter. The air is changing. Spring always brings a feeling of renewal, a quiet reminder that things keep moving forward. It has never been my favourite season—autumn will always have my heart—but this year, I find myself welcoming it more than usual.

The first thing I notice is the color. Cherry blossoms, daffodils, and bright green leaves replace the dullness of winter. In our garden, we have blossom and even the trees, bare for so long, are starting to bud. It feels good to see life returning.

The days are growing longer, and the warmth feels different—less harsh than summer, more welcoming. I find myself lingering outside, enjoying the extra light. A walk in the evening or simply sitting in the sun feels wonderful after months of cold and darkness.

Spring also brings back familiar sounds. Birds sing early in the morning, insects hum, and the wind moves through the trees. These little things remind me to slow down and pay attention. On my walk with Harper yesterday, I heard the song of a chiffchaff, a greenfinch, a robin and a blue tit all in the same little cluster of trees.

More than anything, spring feels like a fresh start. I open my windows, start to clean out clutter, and reset my routines. It’s easier to feel motivated, to be more active, and to welcome something new. Change feels natural this time of year, and this year, I am trying to embrace it.
