Saying Goodbye

Today I left my job as English Teacher and I don’t think I will teach again, certainly not in a traditional classroom role.

The day was very strange. As I was leave just before the end of term, it went largely unnoticed by senior leadership and only the head popped by at lunch to say thank you and shake my hand.

My wonderful colleagues, however, gave me a great send off with thoughtful gifts, meaningful messages and a few glasses of Pinot Grigio.

Now I am home, woozy and tired, emotionally drained and utterly relieved.

I don’t have a plan for what’s next, other than Christmas.

For now, I am looking forward to a quiet day acclimatising to my new self. One where I need a new answer to ‘What do you do?’.

  1. Oh my goodness! You have done it! Well done and I look forward to reading your bestseller. And hopefully see you at Appledore book fair – as a listener or as an author…. x
