Falling back in love with autumn

I think I have made it clear in the past just how much I love this time of year. However, the past couple of years, there has been something off. I have tried to into the autumn spirit but it has felt hollow. The usual thrill of being given a fresh start in September has been overshadowed by work and family life stress that comes with comes with going back to school.

This year has been very similar: September has disappeared in a blur of illness, busy evenings, extra school commitments and even the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks couldn’t get me in the mood for autumn.

Last weekend, we struck conker gold on a walk on the Welcombe Hills and today, it is mild and sunny and the tree leaves are turning. We are taking advantage of the weather and heading over to my favourite autumn spot, Batsford Arboretum. I hope this is going to help me fall back in love with this beautiful time of year.
